1 dead after 3-car collision in Lexington County
One person died in Lexington County on Wednesday night after being injured in a three-car collision.
The collision occurred Wednesday night at 11:20 p.m. on Fish Hatchery Road at Arbor Court, according to state Highway Patrol Lance Corporal Brittany Glover.
The first vehicle, a 2003 GMC Yukon, was traveling south on Fish Hatchery Road. A 2013 Hyundai Elantra was stopped at a stop sign facing east on Pine Arbor Court before it collided with the GMC.
The GMC then also crashed into a nearby 2011 Chrysler 300 parked in a lot south of the road.
The sole occupant of the Hyundai was identified by the Lexington County Coroner’s office as Samuel Andre Butler, 40, of Ludowici, Georgia. The coroner’s office said Butler was not wearing a seat belt. Butler was taken to an area hospital and later died.
The incident remains under investigation by state Highway Patrol.
