Single-car crash leaves 1 dead in Horry County, SC Highway Patrol says

A single-car crash in Horry County claimed the life of one person Saturday, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred around 5 a.m. on U.S. 701 near Flossy Road, where the driver of a 2002 Nissan Altima was traveling south before running off the road to the left and striking a utility pole, the highway patrol said.

The driver, the sole occupant in the vehicle, was pronounced dead on the scene and has not yet been identified by the Horry County Coroner’s Office.

The collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
