A motorist is dead after their car became “fully engulfed” in flames in York County, according the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

At 1:19 a.m. Saturday, a 2011 Ford F-150 was travelling south on Lincoln Road near the intersection of Woodstream Road before running off the road to the right and then to the left.

When the truck veered off to the left, it struck a tree, which ignited a fire.

The driver was pronounced dead on scene and has not yet been identified by the York County Coroner’s Office.

This is a developing story.
