A portion of a rural road in Lexington County will be temporarily closed for repairs beginning in December, the S.C. Department of Transportation said.

The bridge on Cedar Creek Road/State Rd S-32-45, southeast of Pelion, will be closed and detoured from Dec. 1 until Dec. 19, the transportation department shared in a press release. The bridge sits in between Tindal Road and Pine Street and saw an average of 450 cars a day last year, according to traffic counts.

The detour for the closure will send drivers to Thor Road, up either Pine Street or Tindal Road. Cedar Creek Road will only be open to local traffic, except at the bridge site, SCDOT said.
