Speeding car flips over, blocks traffic in Lexington, police say

Lexington P.D.

Lexington police say a car flipped over onto its roof while speeding on Old Cherokee Road early Friday morning.

The accident around 6 a.m. blocked traffic between North Lake Drive and Sunset Boulevard for nearly an hour during the morning rush as crews responded to the scene.

“The collision was caused by a reckless driver who was driving too fast for conditions,” Lexington police said in a Facebook post. “Fortunately he did not sustain any injuries.”

Traffic was flowing normally later on Friday morning. Police did not say on social media whether the driver of the car would face any charges.
