Two people killed in crash that left four others hospitalized, SC cops say
Two people were killed Wednesday night in a crash that left four others hospitalized, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The two-vehicle collision happened at about 7:40 p.m. in Lancaster County, said Master Trooper Hannah Davidson.
A 2001 Ford F-350 pickup truck was driving west on S.C. 5/Rock Hill Highway, according to Davidson. At the intersection with S.C. 75 the pickup collided with a 2017 Audi that was driving south, Davidson said.
The pickup flipped over as it went off the left side of the road, while the Audi ran off the right side of S.C. 5 and crashed into a guard rail, according to Davidson.
There were four people in the pickup, and both the front and backseat passengers on the right side of the Ford died, Davidson said.
The Lancaster County Coroner’s Office has not publicly identified the victims who died.
The pickup driver and a passenger on the left side of the backseat were hurt and taken to an area hospital, according to Davidson. The driver and a passenger in the Audi were injured and taken to another hospital, Davidson said.
Further information on the conditions of the surviving victims was not available.
