Midlands crash leaves 2 dead, multiple injured, SC coroner says

Two people are dead and four others were injured following a crash in Lancaster, according to the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office.

The collision occurred Wednesday around 8 p.m. at the intersection of S.C. Highway 5 and Riverside Road, according to a news release. Two vehicles were involved, including a Ford pick-up truck and an Audi sedan.

Two of the four people travelling in the Ford, which overturned during the crash, were pronounced dead on the scene, the release said. The two others were injured and transported to an area hospital.

The decedents have been identified as 41-year-old Miguel Angel Trujillo Valdivia and Vincente Silverio Rosales, 27. Both men were from Charlotte, N.C.

Two people occupying the Audi were also injured and transported to an area hospital, the release said.

The condition of the four injured is currently unknown, according to the release.

The crash is being investigated by South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office.
