Fatal collision in the Midlands claims the life of one, troopers say

One person is dead following a crash in Aiken County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. Friday on Chukker Creek Road near Jack Russell Lane and included one, a 2019 Subaru sedan, according to Cpl. Nick Pye of the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

The driver of the Subaru, identified as 22-year-old Liam Miller, was traveling west on Chukker Creek Road before veering off the road to the right and hitting a tree.

Miller was pronounced dead on scene at 12:25 a.m. Saturday from injuries sustained in the crash, according to the Aiken County Coroner’s Office.

The collision remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
