Officials are warning people to stay away from the area where a plane crashed Tuesday morning in South Carolina.

The single-plane collision happened near the Oconee County Regional Airport, according to Clemson University Public Safety. Oconee County Emergency Services called it a “small aircraft crash,” WHNS reported.

The crash was near Seneca Creek Meadow, which is only separated from the Clemson University campus by Lake Hartwell, public safety officials said.

The pilot suffered minor injuries, Clemson University Public Safety said.

No other injuries were reported, and the situation was stable, according to public safety officials.

But public safety still said to “avoid the area,” because of the damage caused by the crash. There are downed power lines and traffic lights in the area are out, public safety officials said.

Information about the size and type of plane, and what caused it to crash, was not available.
