Original Story
A search is underway for a missing South Carolina woman.
Hope Belinda Hathaway was publicly reported missing by the Oconee County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday. That’s the same day a family member told law enforcement that the 38-year-old Seneca resident was missing, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
Hathaway left her home, near the Utica area, Monday afternoon and was possibly last seen near the intersection of Wells Highway and Friendship Road, according to the release.
There was no word if Hathaway was alone when she was last seen. The sheriff’s office did not say if foul play was suspected in Hathaway’s disappearance.
Hathaway suffers from medical conditions that require medication, the sheriff’s office said. Further information about her conditions, or if she is in need of her medication, was not available.
The sheriff’s office described Hathaway as a 5-foot-3, 120-pound woman with brown hair and scars on her face. Hathaway wears glasses, and was last seen wearing black pants, a black hoodie and black shoes, according to the release.
Anyone who has seen Hathaway is asked to call 911.
