Scattered areas of snow fell on parts of the Midlands overnight, leaving up to an inch in some places, according to reports.

About an inch of snow fell in parts of Kershaw County near Camden while Lugoff saw less than an inch, residents reported to the National Weather Service. Some areas of southeastern Richland County had a dusting of snow while a small band in the region got nearly an inch.

Columbia and Lexington appear to have missed the snow.

The winter weather more heavily affected the Pee Dee and Lowcountry in and around Interstate 95 and east of it.

Highway 378 in Florence County was blanketed with snow, making a slushy mixture on the road, according to public safety officials. Snowfall was reported in Sumter and Lee counties. At least a half inch of snow fell in parts of Berkeley County. Some areas of Charleston County had a few flakes.

Temperatures will remain cold in the Columbia area but precipitation and the potential for snow will have moved out, according to the the forecast by the National Weather Service. Saturday night it’s expected to drop to the low 20s. From Sunday to Tuesday the weather is expected to be sunny with temperatures that range from the 30s to the low 60s.
