National Weather Service issues a dense fog advisory for the Midlands

The National Weather Service issued a dense fog advisory Saturday for most of the Midlands.

In Columbia, Lexington and other parts of central South Carolina fog could reduce visibility to less than a fourth of a mile, forecasters said.

The weather service said people should drive with their low beam headlights on in dense fog.

The fog is predicted to clear out by the afternoon, and showers are expected in the evening.
