Tropical depression Cindy strengthened to a tropical storm at night

As per the National Hurricane Center's 11 pm Thursday update, the weather system had gained sufficient intensity to be named Cindy. The tropical depression had upgraded to a tropical storm with winds of 40 mph
Tropical Storm Cindy is 1110 miles east of the Lesser Antilles, with maximum sustained wind of 40 mph. It’s moving 14 mph to the west-northwest.
"... the system is expected to remain well northeast of the northern Leeward Islands through early next week." forecasters explained. "Some strengthening is forecast during the next couple of days."
