President Trump is working hard while the Democrats focus on hatching plots against him
On Richland County Council
Richland County Council members should be voting on issues, and not voting should only be an option when they have a conflict of interest. We the people elect our lawmakers on all levels to represent us on all matters, and they can’t use “I wasn’t ready to vote” as an excuse.
When our lawmakers attend meetings, we expect them to be prepared to vote on the issues that are on the agendas, and we expect them to have done their homework. If lawmakers are not going to vote, they should resign and make way for others who are willing to take time to educate themselves on the issues and represent the people.

On solar energy
Recently, The Public Service Commission voted on solar development contract rates and terms.
I want to thank commission Vice Chairman Justin Williams for his comments during the vote, and for his resolve in being the lone vote in support of ensuring that we preserve the letter and intent of the recently enacted Energy Freedom Act — and that ratepayers continue to have the choice of lower-cost renewable energy sources.
Williams is the commission representative in my district, and I want to thank him for standing up for electricity customers in his area. I want more solar and lower bills, so I appreciate his efforts on the Public Service Commission.

On Trump
A recent letter writer suggested that President Donald Trump is “a bully” and “a snake,” but in fact Trump is neither.
Trump is the president who has been doing a great job of remaking a failing economy, providing jobs that are reducing welfare rolls, making other countries pay their fair share, growing a robust stock market and never bowing in deference to foreign dignitaries (as Trump’s predecessor, former President Barack Obama, would do).
Trump says what he means and means what he says.
He isn’t touting socialism. He isn’t offering free education that can not be provided without taxing America out of existence. And Trump is trying to address our homeless and illegal migrant crises.
Trump is doing all this while the Democrats lie and do little that is positive.
