Thank goodness President Trump is clearing out the Democratic rats’ nest in DC

On Trump

I am delighted that President Donald Trump is shaking up and cleaning out the Democratic rats’ nest that is Washington, D. C. And I also appreciate the stance that our Sen. Lindsey Graham has taken in defending and supporting President Trump.

Finally, I believe that Sens. Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren should be running for the presidency of Russia rather than that of the United States of America.

On community cats

A recent letter writer complained about the Trap Neuter Release program that has been embraced by Richland and Lexington counties in regards to stray cats. But why does the letter writer apparently find it beneath him to support a program that stops the killing of thousands of cats in our community?

Trap Neuter Release is a proven best practice program used to control and limit the outdoor cat population. The fact of the matter is that for decades, shelters have killed countless numbers of cats without having any impact on the overall cat population.

Our organization, Pawnetto Lifeline, has been running the community cat program in Lexington for a year now; during that time we have decreased the animal intake numbers at the Lexington Shelter by 44%.

These efforts have clearly benefited taxpayers and saved tax dollars

The bottom line is this: Why are the letter writer’s rights more important than those of the people who are caring for these community cats and paying for them to be altered? The truth is that his rights are no more important than those of the thousands of people — including me — who support Trap Neuter Release.

On endorsing Buttigieg

The State’s endorsement of Pete Buttigieg in the Democratic Party primary is an obvious ploy to get President Donald Trump re-elected. Mayor Pete is a great guy, but you know that he’s not ready to become president — and also you know that endorsing him is going to turn off a whole bunch of people.

What a disgrace you are.

On offshore drilling

According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, here are some facts about America’s energy supply:

The U.S. now produces more energy than any country in the world.

The U.S. exports more energy than we import.

The U.S. has natural gas reserves that will last for the next 92 years!

With this much energy available, why would anyone suggest drilling off South Carolina’s coast? And why are our two senators — as well as five of our U.S. House representatives — still supporting offshore drilling in the midst of such a national energy glut?

On the Democrats

For their own particular reasons the Russians and the Republicans are hard at work trying to get President Donald Trump re-elected. But why are the Democrats hard at work trying to help them?

On the primary

I totally agree with the letter writer who opposes the idea of Republican voters voting in large numbers in Saturday’s Democratic Party presidential primary. I would even go so far as to say that any registered Republican who clearly seeks to meddle in the Democratic primary should not be allowed to vote in any election for four years. Furthermore, any legislator who encourages this action should be removed from office.

Take that, meddlers!

We’re tired of watching people try to mess with our democracy.
