Here are 30 reasons to oppose President Donald Trump — and there are plenty more

Here are 30 reasons why I oppose President Donald Trump:

1. He is a liar who has told more than 18,000 documented lies since taking office.

2. He continues to downplay the rising coronavirus pandemic — and continues to refuse to accept any responsibility for fighting it.

3. He endangers fellow Americans by holding mass rallies during an ongoing pandemic.

4. He repeatedly attacks the media and has no concept of the need for a robust free press to preserve our democracy and way of life.

5. He walked to Lafayette Square to hold up a Bible after officers in riot gear drove peaceful protesters away from the White House.

6. He seeks to roll back all manner of environmental protections.

7. He unlawfully withheld aid from Ukraine in an effort to force that country’s president to announce an unwarranted investigation aimed at damaging Joe Biden, Trump’s presidential rival.

8. He discriminated against minority tenants in housing complexes he owned in New York City — and his beliefs remain clear today as he describes peaceful protesters as “thugs” and refuses to recognize the tragedy of George Floyd’s death (and the deaths of others like Floyd).

9. He urged Russia and China to interfere in America’s 2016 elections — and he is reportedly now begging China’s dictator to help him win re-election this year.

10. He rejects the fact that climate change is taking place, and has withdrawn America from the Paris climate accord.

11. He will say and do anything to pander to his supporters regardless of how divisive and harmful it may be to the country.

12. He tells Middle America that he cares about it, yet he is trying to destroy the Affordable Care Act and has pushed through a tax cut that mostly benefits the very wealthy and rich corporations.

13. He nominates only white men to the Supreme Court — and prefers justices who have narrow views of constitutional and individual rights.

14. He watches Fox News for hours every day, and spends time tweeting nonsense instead of working hard to lead America.

15. He sees women as possessions he can physically abuse, and jokes that he can get away with doing so because he is rich.

16. He does not respect the separation of powers.

17. He regularly cheated businesses and workers out of the money he owed them.

18. He cheated the government by undervaluing real estate he inherited to avoid estate taxes.

19. He is wasting billions of dollars building a wall on our southern border that anyone can cut through with an electric saw.

20. He treats the presidency as a reality TV show.

21. He has disemboweled the Republican Party.

22. He bows before tyrants, and actually said that he believed Russian President Vladimir Putin — and not US intelligence agencies — when Putin told him Russia did not interfere in the 2016 election.

23. He has urged the nation’s top doctors to investigate whether injecting disinfectants is a good way to kill the coronavirus.

24. He fires inspectors general and U.S. Attorneys whose job is to root out wrongdoing in government, and installs sycophants who will ignore corruption.

25. He fails to appreciate the need to maintain our longtime alliances with nations in the European Union.

26. He believes he can ingratiate himself with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, yet North Korea continues to draw ever closer to possessing nuclear weapons.

27. He wants to run the executive branch like a Mafia mob, and demands that everyone from FBI directors to military generals swear personal allegiance to him.

28. He has enacted despicable immigration policies that have yanked children from their poverty-stricken parents’ arms at our southern border.

29. He thrives on chaos and dysfunction.

30. He belittled war hero and former Sen. John McCain even after McCain’s death, despite the fact that he avoided serving in the military by claiming he had bone spurs.

And this is just a partial list of the reasons why I oppose President Trump.
