Friday letters: Are we electing class president?
I understand that many in South Carolina do not support our president. Cool. That difference of opinion is what makes America great.
But go to work for a minute. You’re the boss — the one responsible, the one with ideas, and every manager in the place immediately hollers and announces their hatred of you.
Imagine having been elected president — twice — and having every idea disparaged before it even hits the street. Your citizenship is questioned — and your religion.
So now it’s the election cycle. You have at least eight people in the opposition party chomping at your heels. It’s high school again: Elect me, and we will have more food choices at lunch. Eight guys and gals condemning your every action — those things that are worthy of criticism and those that aren’t.
I think that as Americans, we should try to support all of our elected politicians. If you don’t agree with them, move on and vote for someone else.
But a little less hatred and a little more study would show our kids how they should elect school class presidents.
