Letters: Gender isn’t Clinton’s problem

In her Sept. 2 letter, Rosellen Aleguire laments her elderly, angry, sexist, white male friend who is distraught over his electoral choices between a buffoon and a woman.

As an elderly, white, cheerful man in his 70s who has no problem with a woman being president, I support her in her concern for this obviously biased sexist relic.

He could have given any number of reasons for not wanting to vote for Hillary Clinton, including dishonesty, lack of integrity, criminal activity, elitism, entitlement, incompetence, public indifference, inaccessibility, contempt for the public, her political goals and the fact that a number of Supreme Court seats will probably need to be filled.

For her friend to think that she’s unqualified simply because she is a woman is shameful and thoughtless. The headline for her letter, “Hillary Clinton and the male voter,” would be more accurate reading “Hillary Clinton and a male voter.”
