Letters: Ban cellphone use behind wheel
In her column on preventing highway deaths, why did Cindi Ross Scoppe not mention using cellphones while driving (“The secret to cutting our high highway death rate,” Sept. 4)?
South Carolina should enact a law prohibiting the use of any hand-held device while operating any motor vehicle, and impose a fine of at least $250 for a first offense and more for subsequent offenses.
