Letters: Clinton, Trump reflect godless society
This presidential campaign has revealed alleged ethical sinkholes in candidate character. Yet many corporations and our anti-God public schools reject most ethical teaching.
Babies are born anti-social. Ethical behavior must be taught.
As education greatly influences student behavior, it is complicit in this ethics breakdown. Amoral public education is a great failure. It has jettisoned Judeo-Christian values while obviously having no better solution.
Hiding God from students clearly reflects a religious agenda, not neutrality.
We desperately need to teach dependability, truthfulness, honesty and virtue. We need unbiased tough love, educators with a higher ethical vision.
Politicians have no monopoly on dissipation. Bars, men’s locker rooms, TV shows, personal conversations and teen texts are no strangers to greed, toilet bowl mouths, lies, immorality and depravity.
The Old Testament prophet Amos tells us (5:15) to “Hate evil, love good, and establish justice in the gate!” That would make a wonderful corporate or government policy.
