Letters: Don’t rely on banks for warning

Did you know banks will text or email you alerts about the status of your accounts? BB&T has a low-balance alert, a cleared-check alert, an overdraft-fee alert and many others. But there was no maintenance-fee alert when one of my BB&T accounts started charging me a $15 a month maintenance fee. I wonder why.

It might be a good idea to check your statements to see if you are being charged service or maintenance fees. Then contact your bank and find out why, and you're welcome.
