Letters: ‘State’ should have endorsed McMullin as conservative choice

Our country needs radical change, but this can’t be effected by either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton. As The State said in its endorsement of Clinton, Trump cannot be trusted to lead our nation and represent it to the world (“Why conservatives have no option but to support Clinton,” Oct. 30). The State also listed what it described as Clinton’s “significant flaws.” But in opining that “we must rely on Hillary Clinton for any meaningful change in Washington politics,” the newspaper limited its analysis to these two candidates.

South Carolina has a true conservative on its ballot: Evan McMullin, who has more than 10 years in the field fighting terrorism, an MBA from Wharton, an informed plan for fighting terrorism and a thoughtful plan for immigration. His work advising the U.S. House created relationships with members of Congress, and his pro-life and religious-freedom stances mirror those of S.C. Republicans.
