Letters: Real problem in Washington remains

AP

A lot of analysts say the voters elected Donald Trump president because they felt left behind. Washington does not work for them. They are angry.

Unfortunately the anger is totally misplaced.

Congress is the stumbling block. Congress has done nothing for the American people for years, certainly the past six.

Congress has not dealt with military spending, Social Security or Medicare, an alternative to Obamacare or the tax code.

And who has just been elected? Mostly those same senators and representatives. Many are not interested in governing — think government shutdown. They want a soapbox for their ideology.

Maybe a President Trump can shake things up. He needs to.
