Letters: Think again about who’s deplorable
If Leonard Pitts would bother to look into a mirror, he may find a terrible form of racism that he never knew existed (“Time to take our country back,” Nov. 18). The deplorables, when Barack Obama was elected, never rioted in the streets.
We were upset that Obama won and had to live with it for eight years. Eight years of division (if you did not like him, you were a racist). Eight years of how great he was. Eight years of we need to work together on what I want (your ideas or what you want is immaterial because we can only do it my way).
The campaign against Donald Trump was based on the idea that deplorables would riot if he did not win (who’s rioting now?), that we would lose freedom of speech (who used the power of the IRS to silence critics?) and that he can’t be trusted to keep secrets (who had an unsecure server?).
The deplorables gave you a big finger and took your participation trophy from you, so grow the heck up.
