Letters: Vista visitors held for ransom

tdominick@thestate.com

We love going downtown to the Colonial Center and surrounding bars and restaurants. Unfortunately, the lack of and cost of parking will significantly reduce our trips in this area.

The parking garages have raised their rates by 100 percent, from $5 to $10, when there is a basketball game. The same garages were charging $20 for the Stevie Nicks concert. I consider them parking lot pirates.

Both the college and the city desperately need to look at viable options to provide adequate and low-cost parking. This problem will continually get worse and will have a negative impact on the businesses in this area.
