Letters: School bus drivers should be more careful
A bus wreck like the one in Chattanooga could happen here. Seldom do I see school buses traveling the speed limit. When I lived near Caughman Road, often buses flew down that road, especially where the road dips at the curve at Sunview Lake — a very dangerous road.
I now live in Lexington County, and the bus in our neighborhood seldom stops at the stop sign if I am not in my yard watching. The driver turns right and guns the gas to go uphill 50 feet before slinging the bus into the street on the left making a short “S” turn (it could go straight instead of making that turn). I wonder if the bus is going to tip over like the on that killed five little children. Why do school buses not have seat belts?
