Letters: Thanks for helping Salvation Army help Midlands
I’d like to express our deepest appreciation for everyone who helped the Salvation Army of the Midlands raise more than $391,000 with our red kettle campaign and assist more than 3,100 children from more than 1,300 families with Christmas presents and food for the holidays.
To everyone who gave at the red kettle, adopted an angel, contributed at the Stuff A Bus event or gave toys at our toy drive locations, you played a part and made it possible. During the Christmas season, more than 2,300 volunteers provided more than 5,600 volunteer hours. It truly was a community effort.
Our community still needs your assistance. Your donations year-round can help meet the needs of children and families through our local social programs and services. Donations can be designated to support our children’s after-school reading program, food baskets, meals for the homeless, rental/utility assistance and disaster services.
We look forward to working with you in 2017.
