Letters: Thanks to good Samaritans on road crew

A huge thank you to a group of good Samaritans who came to my teenage daughter’s aid. On Friday, Feb. 3, my 16-year-old was driving to high school with two friends on Hardscrabble Road in Northeast Columbia when her front bumper fell off and became lodged under her car.

Luckily this mishap occurred in view of a road crew. Without hesitation, the crew members helped free the bumper and even reattached it to the car with zip ties.

Their good deed eased the anxiety of my daughter and her friends during a frightening incident, and it reaffirmed my faith that there are so many good people willing to help out when needed.

I want those good Samaritans to know how much their kindness is appreciated.

Hope Derrick
