Letters: Gun restrictions don’t make us safer
A big thank-you to Rep. Mike Pitts for introducing a bill to let people carry guns without a permit, bringing our laws more into line with the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Can you imagine the outcry if the exercise of the First Amendment were restricted as much as the second?
Criminals already carry guns without a permit. How does restricting the rights of law-abiding citizens (those of us not committing crimes) make any of us safer?
