Letters: More troopers would make SC roads safer

Correct me if I am wrong, but I thought that “patrol” was part of the name of the S.C. Highway Patrol. Sadly I see very little patrolling, but I do see a lot of investigating of accidents.

Here’s an idea: Immediately raise the gas tax by 10 cents a gallon, and use some of the money to upgrade our Highway Patrol. Not only would we see better highways conditions, but safer ones also.
