Letters: Gun requirements violate Constitution

Those who think people should have to have a permit to carry a gun should read the Second Amendment: “A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.” Nowhere does that say that militias alone can bear arms. Individuals are covered within the confines of “a well regulated militia.”
