Letters: Why doesn’t SC tax utility trailers?

When I served on highway safety committees several years ago, someone suggested to a state senator that utility trailers be taxed to raise money to repair bad roads. Other states have taxed trailers, which damage roads.

Those who brought the suggestion were told it would never pass because of the good-ol’-boy system in the Legislature. That continues to hold true.
