Letters: Bad roads, open-carry make SC unwelcoming

I wonder how long we will be able to keep the NCAA tournament and other major sporting events when people from out of state come to South Carolina and are confronted with road reconstruction everywhere because we waited too late to pass a roads bill.

Then, after suffering from our disastrous roads, they check into a hotel, head out to dinner, or a local bar, and are exposed to idiots walking our streets with guns hanging on their side.

This would be laughable if it weren't about to happen.
