Letters: Is it too late to rescue SC wildlife?

It seems like wildlife is pretty well doomed in South Carolina. The increase of mega-farms clearing huge forest does not help wildlife. The rise of high fences in the ’80s and ’90s didn’t help. The low water on the Saluda and Congaree rivers doesn’t help the striped bass during spawning. Where are all the white bass that once thrived in the rivers in Columbia?

Subdivisions are swallowing up tons of land where wildlife once thrived. It’s no wonder so many deer die on roads. Coyotes don’t help. You can’t afford to lease any land that’s left because some millionaire takes it from you. It’s all about the almighty dollar. It may be too late.
