Letters: Inconsistent SC flags is least of our problems

Really? Someone wants our Legislature to spend valuable time to get a consensus on what the moon and/or the Palmetto tree should look like on our state flag (“Could we please stop changing S.C. flag,” April 30)? This is more important than our children’s education? This is more important than our roads? This is more important than ensuring the safety and security of our residents? This is more important than unemployment?

I am not saying don’t make changes to the flag, but I am saying there are many needs more important than that to work on while in session. I would venture to say that most South Carolinians would much rather drive on roads that were not washed out or filled with potholes than worry about the flag. And I am one of them.
