Letters: Troopers, not repairs, make SC roads safer

It seems that the governor and all of those legislators have no desire to understand why there are so many fatalities on our highways. It’s not the road conditions, but the condition of the drivers. There is still a tremendous amount of texting and other distractions. Laws were passed requiring seat belts and outlawing texting while driving, but motorcycle riders do not wear helmets, and their driving is reckless and foolhardy.

Put more troopers on our roads, and give them the raise they deserve.
