Letters: Fix sewer system, then buy meters

The city of Columbia is one of the state’s major providers of drinking water.

The April 19 article, “$50 million system could make your water bill more accurate,” reports that Columbia is about to replace 140,000 water meters with more advanced meters.

I must have missed the article of how and when Columbia plans to fix the sewer problems that the feds mandated it fix. The water system needs to fix what is broken first before it goes $49 million further into debt with new meters.
