Letters: SC State right to invite McMaster

I strongly support S.C. State’s decision to invite Gov. Henry McMaster to be this year’s commencement speaker and am pleased that he accepted. I will be in attendance as part of my 35-year class reunion.

We should not only extend an invitation to the governor, but all lawmakers should be invited to attend events at S.C. State. I would love to see a delegation of legislators visit S.C. State and other historically black colleges to determine how to best make our school the best it can be.

I challenge all alumni and friends of S.C. State to assist in this effort. We can start by contributing financially, because the verbal contributions that have been in the news lately will not help students get a college degree.
