Letters: Limit marijuana, alcohol to in-home use

AP

I am a diabetic, and I have high cholesterol. Both are genetic. The medicine I was taking to control them has damaged my liver as well as my kidneys. You see, medications advertised on TV for acne, psoriasis, eczema and a number of problems that are not life-threatening have side effects that can cause TB, cancer, even death. The FDA still approves them.

It would not bother me if the active ingredient in marijuana was approved for medical use, as long as it had to be used at home and users were jailed if they left their homes under the influence. We should treat alcohol the same way: consumption in the home only.
