Letters: Foster parents save lives every day

Sun-News

Every day in South Carolina, there are more than 4,000 children in need of a safe home. The thousands of families and individuals who open their homes to children in need are some of our most courageous and selfless citizens.

Children in the state’s care count on foster parents, people they have never met, to care for them after they have experienced some of the most unimaginable trauma and neglect.

However, there are many more children and youth in need of a safe place to call home.

The need for foster parents in our state is greater than ever. The children we serve at Lutheran Services Carolinas and the work we do would not be possible without a community of foster families and individuals ready to help.

We need more individuals in our community to consider opening their homes to a foster child. You will not only change a child’s life by opening your home and your heart, but yours will forever be changed as well.

For information on fostering a child, contact Lutheran Services Carolinas at lscarolinas.net or 1-800-HELPING.
