Letters: Unplugged and set free

San Jose Mercury News

As a self-described news junkie for the past decade, I have regained control of my time since the November elections. I am now unplugged and set free.

The outrageous and over-the-top response by Democrats, progressives, the elitist establishment, members of “Indivisible” and the media of treating every issue as an impeachable offense or constitutional crisis has allowed me to tune out the news, unplug from the noise and feel secure I am missing only their repetition of rumors and insinuations. It is amazing how many others I find feel the same.

The orchestrated refrain of indignation reminds me of the boy who cried wolf: an alarm without evidence or substance. The question those making these alarmist claims should ask themselves is: After making everything Trump does a crisis, what will they ever do if we actually have a crisis?
