Letters: Urge Graham, Scott to oppose TrumpCare
Having insurance can make all the difference between living and dying when you have a potentially fatal disease. The Senate is considering its version of TrumpCare, which like the House plan likely will drastically reduce the number of insured in South Carolina, cut our state’s federal Medicaid funding and increase both insurance premiums and the cost of medical care for everyone. This is not the promise the president made in the fall when he said he would repeal and replace Obamacare with something bigger and better for everyone.
Call or write Sens. Lindsey Graham and Tim Scott and urge them to vote against the Senate’s replacement plan, to protect Medicaid for our elderly, disabled, children and the poor. Take a few minutes to speak on behalf of those who need our help, for as Christ said, “Whenever you failed to help any of my people, no matter how unimportant they seemed, you failed to do it for me.” We can do better for those among us in need.
