Letters: Ending Alzheimer’s begins with sharing

Everyone can do something help to end the Alzheimer’s epidemic. Here are a few simple ways:

Wear purple — the color of the Alzheimer’s movement — for the rest of the month to raise awareness of the disease. Turn your social media purple by sharing photos. I’m wearing a different purple shirt every day this month.

Share your story. The more we talk about Alzheimer’s, the less stigma there will be. My gran passed away from Alzheimer’s 10 years ago; that was how I always knew her and has influenced my career and my outside passions.

Join volunteers like me to talk to U.S. Sens. Lindsey Graham and Tim Scott and our representatives about supporting Alzheimer’s research and policies that help families. Thanks to Congressman Joe Wilson and his staff for continuing to support this cause.

Please help the Alzheimer’s Association to #ENDALZ; learn more at alz.org/abam.
