Letters: Put the ‘Front Porch’ in the park

So Columbia wants to turn the State House grounds into a “Front Porch”? I would call it a “City of Columbia Public Park,” the likes of which gets run-down and trampled very fast (“Columbia’s not dropping ‘Front Porch’ idea for State House grounds,” June 16).

Lest Mayor Steve Benjamin forget, the State House doesn’t belong to the city. I don’t want the beautiful tree canopies and green grass replaced with a picnic table.
