Letters: Trump is not the one to blame

I have been blaming Donald Trump for not resembling anything close to being a president. I get mad at myself for not understanding his philosophy of “why tell the truth when a lie will do?” He was sued many times for his lies when he ran his business, so why would I expect any other outcome when his followers put him in the White House? He wears a hat that says, “Make America Great Again,” when it should say, “Please believe what Putin tells me.”

But I was wrong. Now I blame the 15 other Republicans who ran for president. They rarely had the guts to challenge him when he insulted their intelligence, their wives, their looks and other personal traits. The gang of 15 folded like a tent in a bad storm when Trump went after them. They folded just like Trump did at the G20 summit when Putin told him that Russia did not interfere with the 2016 election.

So to the gang of 15, thanks for giving us Putin’s new buddy.
