This is unbelievable. A mega-project with mega-costs is pitched to the state, and the Legislature passes a law absolving SCE&G from any monetary liability and dumps all liability on constituents. (Legislators know which side of their bread is buttered.) I think we all need to hear from the elected officials who voted “yes” to that sellout. They owe us an explanation.

What price is SCE&G going to pay for its mismanagement? Is lack of accountability and responsibility one of the perks of being a monopoly?

What about the Public Service Commission? It failed to protect the consumer. The commissioners should all resign.

It looks like the PSC exists to provide a buffer to the legislators who elect them. That degree of separation from unpopular decisions allows our elected officials to express fake indignation and bluster during elections. Again, no accountability.

SCE&G should recover the same percentage of lost dollars as it is returning to the ratepayers: zero.
