Letters: Columbia needs to clean up for eclipse

I hope travelers to our city for the eclipse events have a better first impression than I did driving back into town recently.

The litter on the roadways, debris on the medians and shoulders that haven’t been mowed did not give me the impression of a city that cares about creating a welcoming environment for our guests.

We have a unique opportunity to showcase Columbia during this special event. Let’s make that first impression one that complements our great city.
