Letters: Clemson, USC players should follow Kaepernick’s lead

Colin Kaepernick displays more courage than any professional athlete on the planet when he kneels instead of standing for the national anthem. He shows more conviction than any other black NFL player in the league today. He is doing the right thing.

All the killings of black men and women by police with no punishment is an abomination. I want all of the nonwhite players on USC’s football team and all the nonwhite players on Clemson’s football team to stand down until justice is served to the guilty. I know they’re in school and play football, but they can get shot too. How can they play football and be oblivious to the killing of other blacks by police?

It wasn’t that long ago when they were not allowed to walk across the campus. White supremacy still rules the land.
