Monuments don’t define us
Maybe we should all take a few minutes and reflect on the immortal words of Cato the Elder:
“I would much rather have men ask why I have no statue, than why I have one.”
Our culture is not defined by monuments or statues. Instead, it is how we study history and learn from it to make our community, state and world a better place.
