Photo encouraged dangerous boating

The Aug. 28 front-page photo of two youths in their watercraft on the river was really not well thought out. The vast majority of people who drown are not wearing a life jacket.

Prominently displaying this photo sends the incorrect message to our youth and others that not wearing a life jacket while on the water is acceptable. It definitely is not and is extremely risky.
